Ahold Albert Heijn to go to court over alleged labour law breach

The Dutch CNV service sector union is to take Ahold's supermarket chain Albert Heijn (AH) to court over the company’s proposed changes to the salary structure for part-time workers. NRC reported that under the new deal, part-time staff of AH stores, wine and spirits chain Gall & Gall and Etos drugstores who work 48 hours or less within four weeks are paid an hourly wage which includes all extras such as holiday pay. According to the union, the move contravenes the law and collective labour agreements, however, the company denies contravening these laws.
